Batting first against MI, SRH scored 173 runs.
The 55th match of IPL 2024 was played between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In this match, MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl. Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 173 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai team easily achieved the target in 17.2 overs with seven wickets remaining.
Not a single batsman from SRH could score a half-century
Sunrisers Hyderabad, who came to bat first, had a good start. Although this season his openers were on fire with the bat, but in the last few matches his bat has become quiet. Something similar happened in today’s match also. Travis Head looked in good form initially but Abhishek Sharma was out after playing his Test match innings of 11 runs in 16 balls.
After that Mayank Agarwal, who got a chance in today’s match after a long time, was out after scoring 5 runs in 6 balls. After this, Nitish Reddy (20), Marco Yansin (17), Shahbaz Ahmed (10) all got out cheaply. In the end, captain Pat Cummins played an inning of 35* runs in 17 balls due to which SRH could reach a fighting score of 173.
Head scored the highest score of 48 runs in 30 balls for Hyderabad. Talking about bowling, today captain Hardik Pandya bowled well and took three wickets for 31 runs, apart from this Piyush Chawla also got three wickets. Whereas Bumrah and debutant Anshul Kamboj managed to take one wicket each.
Suryakumar Yadav again became the trouble-shooter for MI, scored a century
While chasing the target, Mumbai had a very bad start. The team’s openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma once again failed to give a good start. Ishan scored 9 runs in 7 balls while Rohit scored 4 runs in 5 balls. After this, Naman Dheer walked out without opening the account after playing 9 balls. At one time, Mumbai’s top 3 batsmen had returned to the pavilion on the score of just 31. But after this Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma took over the Mumbai innings.
There was an unbroken 143-run partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma and it gave Mumbai victory with 16 balls to spare. Suryakumar was the hero of Mumbai’s victory, he played an unbeaten inning of 102 runs in 5q balls, which included 12 fours and six sixes. During this time, Tilak Verma supported him a lot, he returned unbeaten after scoring 37 runs in 32 balls. For SRH, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Yansin and Pat Cummins got one wicket each.

Last game Surya Kumar Yadav scored half century and at the start till 15 balls he was literally playing with 100 strike rate and end up scoring at 160. Today also started responsibly. Commitment and skill👏

Always said that when the pitch has something to offer SRH needs to have another game plan. Plan B to identify batter or two who came see thru the inning from one end to give them stability.
