MS Dhoni: In the 17th season of IPL, all four teams have qualified for the playoffs, in which Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals had already qualified for the playoffs. Now Royal Challengers Bangalore have confirmed their place in the playoffs by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the last league match.
With this defeat, Chennai (CSK)’s IPL 2024 journey ended and perhaps Dhoni’s IPL journey too. It is believed that this season is Dhoni’s last IPL season and he will announce his retirement. It is noteworthy that Dhoni was seen suffering from knee injury and pain during the tournament, hence it seems impossible for him to play IPL next year.
CSK’s legendary former captain MS Dhoni has reached his home Ranchi after the last match of Chennai. In the match played between RCB and CSK on Saturday, Chennai needed to reach the target of 201 runs to make it to the playoffs. However, Dhoni was unable to lead the team to victory.
Dhoni was seen angry at himself after not helping the team win. But the very next day Dhoni returned home and was seen in a light mood. Dhoni was seen smiling at the fans and also said hello to them. Let us tell you that after the defeat, Dhoni was disappointed and was seen not shaking hands with the RCB players when the team’s opponents were celebrating their victory.
Was this Dhoni’s last IPL?
On this question, Robin Uthappa said, “I don’t think we have seen the last of MS. He is not a person who takes these things lightly. He will definitely come back roaring. Even with the storyline, I have only seen him bat in the last 4 or 5 overs, there is a reason for that.
Regarding MS Dhoni’s retirement, Suresh Raina told Geo Cinema, “Rituraj Gaikwad needs more time to mature, so MS Dhoni should play one more season.”
