MS Dhoni may be seen playing in IPL 2025, but BCCI will have to agree to this condition


A big news related to IPL 2025 is coming out. Some media reports have revealed that, if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) allows 5-6 retentions before the mega auction, then former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni may be seen playing in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

After winning the IPL 2023 title as CSK captain, Dhoni underwent knee surgery. The same legendary wicket-keeper batsman surprised everyone as always by taking a bold decision ahead of the 2024 edition where he handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad.

MS Dhoni was also seen struggling with a knee injury in IPL 2024. He played all the matches with a knee injury and also did wicketkeeping. However, despite the pain, he batted and also won matches for his team. He scored 25 runs off 13 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore in his last IPL match. But with the season ending, the question in everyone’s mind was whether Dhoni will play in the upcoming season or not.

Whether Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni), who has won 5 trophies for Chennai Super Kings, will play in the upcoming season or not, the decision is in Mahi’s hands. However, a report has come out in Cricbuzz regarding this, which has surprised everyone. If the report is to be believed, Chennai Super Kings will retain Dhoni only if they get permission to retain 5-6 players in IPL.
