Mumbai captain Aryan Sakpal played a memorable innings against Gujarat in the Vijay Merchant Trophy final in Aloor. Thanks to his 127 runs on 355 balls, Mumbai won the title by winning the match by an innings and 38 runs. After the title win, Aryan Sakpal and his teammates had a dinner party with MCA officials in Bengaluru.
While talking about his spectacular victory, Sakpal said that he is extremely proud of his journey. He revealed that he used to watch the historic tournament on TV with his father and it was his dream to participate in it. He said that it was a dream come true moment for him and he is happy to add another trophy to Mumbai’s kitty.

Sakpal told News18, “It was a very proud moment for me, because I had watched this tournament on TV last year and before Covid-19. That year also Mumbai won the tournament. My dream was to play in the tournament, to play in the final so that I can be on TV and help my team win the match. So it was a proud moment and that dream also came true.
He further said that, Dinesh Lad sir is very good, and whenever I need him, he is always available and always guides me well. Whenever there is any ups and downs, it feels good to talk to them. Even when I lost patience when I did not get a chance, Sir would ask me to be patient. I then work accordingly and get good results.
