The Mumbai Cricket Association has appointed Kulkarni as the bowling mentor for all age-group teams for the upcoming domestic season.
The Mumbai cricket team won the Ranji Trophy title for the 42nd time by defeating Vidarbha in March this year. After winning the trophy, former Indian bowler Dhawal Kulkarni announced his retirement. Now Dhawal Kulkarni is going to be seen in a new role for the Mumbai cricket team. The Mumbai Cricket Association has appointed Kulkarni as the bowling mentor for teams of all age groups for the upcoming domestic season.

Mumbai Cricket Association secretary Ajinkya Naik, while talking to Times of India, has officially informed about the appointment of Dhawal Kulkarni as bowling mentor for the upcoming domestic season. He also talked about honoring legendary player Sunil Gavaskar.
Ajinkya Naik said,We have decided to appoint Dhawal Kulkarni as the bowling mentor for the upcoming season. At the same time, Amol Kale (MCA president) proposed, and the Apex Council unanimously approved, to honour Sunil Gavaskar on the occasion of his 75th birthday.’

Announcing his retirement after winning the Ranji Trophy 2024, Dhawal Kulkarni had said that whether it is coaching or any other role, he would definitely like to come back to the game again.
Dhawal Kulkarni while talking at the press conference said, ‘I haven’t thought much about it but cricket has given me so much that I want to give it back to the game, whether it is coaching or whatever role I get. I want to give it back to cricket. So, whatever I do in the future, it will be around cricket.’
Dhawal Kulkarni has taken 285 wickets in 96 first-class matches in his 16-year domestic career. He has taken 223 wickets in 130 matches in List-A cricket and 154 wickets in 162 T20 matches. While playing for India, he has taken 19 wickets in 12 ODIs and 3 wickets in two T20 matches.
