Harshit Rana has got a place in Team India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Fast bowler Harshit Rana has got a place in Team India for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is scheduled to start from November 22. This is his first call-up in the longest format and he will be looking to make a mark if he gets a chance in the series. Recently, Rana proved his usefulness with the red ball by taking five wickets and a half-century against Assam in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25.
Meanwhile, speaking about his maiden call up, the fast bowler said that his competitive attitude is similar to that of Australia and he is proud to have made it to India’s 18-member squad. He also said that his father’s dream was for Rana to play Test cricket against England at Lord’s but he always preferred to play against the Australian team.

Harshit Rana was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo, “The kind of competitive attitude I like to play cricket with on the field is similar to Australia. It was my father’s dream that I would someday play a Test against England at Lord’s, but I personally like Australia more. I am proud of myself to be a part of Team India on this tour.”
Rana was included in the squad as a traveling reserve for the first two Test matches against New Zealand. He was seen practicing at the NCA during the Test played in Bengaluru. At that time the 22-year-old player realized that his name could be considered for the series against Australia. Speaking on this he said that the selection was a big thing for him.
He said, “When the team was announced, I came to know that I am going to Australia. But there were indications that I could be selected for the Australia tour because they included me in the team for preparation. He said, “It is a big thing for me to be selected for the Australia tour.”
