On the other hand, in the absence of Sophie Devine, the command of New Zealand women’s cricket team has been handed over to Suzie Bates. Also, Georgia Plimmer has been selected from the New Zealand A team to fill the void of Amelia Kerr in the team.

The head coach of the team, Ben Soyer, is very worried about Suzie Bates becoming the new captain of the team, but he has also said that this will give the young players a chance to showcase their talent. Ben said as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo-

It is obviously disappointing not to have Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine at the start of the T20 series. But we know that some such situation can happen, so we have prepared a plan accordingly. Suzie Bates (captain), Eden Carson, Bernadine Bezuidenhout (wk), Izzy Gage (wk), Maddy Green, Brooke Halliday, Fran Jonas, Jess Kerr, Rosemary Mair, Georgia Plimmer, Hannah Rowe, Lee Tahuhu.
