Nick Hockley has announced that he will step down from the post of Chief Executive of Cricket Australia after March 2025. Let us tell you, Nick Hockley was working in this post for five years. He worked in Australia Cricket for about 13 years, in which he was the Chief Executive for five years.

Hockley said, “The decision to step down was very difficult, but after completing five successful years, it would be the right time for me to move on and accept a new challenge. I will leave this post in March next year, by then the board will also have time to find its new CEO.”

He further said in a statement, ‘This is not the time to say goodbye, as I am completely focused on the upcoming season. Also, I am supporting the board in finding a new option.’

Nick Hockley held this position during the Covid period

Hockley’s tenure began during the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially he was appointed in an interim capacity in 2020 but from 2021 he took over the entire tenure on his own. His tenure was quite successful. During his tenure, both the Australian men’s and women’s teams won the ODI and T20 format World Cup. Not only this, the men’s team also won the World Test Championship trophy.
