Indian cricket team’s experienced spinner Yuzvendra Chahal could not make a place in Team India’s limited overs team after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Apart from this, he has not got a chance to play in Duleep Trophy also.

So, due to not getting a chance in domestic cricket, Chahal started playing cricket for Northamptonshire in Division 2 of County Cricket. In the tournament, he has taken 19 wickets in the four matches played so far. He also took five wickets in the match against Kent.

However, now Chahal has given a big statement explaining the reason for playing county cricket. Chahal says that he wants to prove himself and make a place in the Indian Test team with Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel.

Chahal has been out of Team India for a long time

Let us tell you that 34-year-old Yuzvendra Chahal played his last international match for India on August 13, 2023 against West Indies. He was a part of the T20 World Cup 2024 winning Indian team, but he did not get a chance to play a single match.

Chahal has played 72 ODI and 80 T20 matches for India, in which he has taken 121 and 96 wickets respectively. Apart from this, Chahal has taken 205 wickets in 160 IPL matches and he is the highest wicket taker in the tournament.
