The Indian cricket team met PM Modi on 4 July
The Indian cricket team has recently won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 trophy under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Team India won the trophy for the second time by winning against South Africa by 7 runs in the final match held in Barbados on 29 June. After winning the trophy, Rohit was seen taking this trophy in a different way, just like the iconic walk of WWE superstar Rick Flair.
So, after winning the T20 World Cup trophy and becoming the world champions, the Indian cricket team reached India on 4 July. After reaching India, the first thing that Team India did was meet PM Modi in the Prime Minister’s Office on the morning of 4 July. In this meeting, PM Modi questioned Indian captain Rohit Sharma about that iconic walk and asked whether it was Chahal’s idea.
Rohit Sharma explains the reason behind his iconic walk
Let us tell you that when PM Modi asked Rohit Sharma about this walk, he said- this was a very big moment for all of us, everyone waited for this for a long time. So everyone told me not to go on stage in a simple way, do something different.
While talking to Team India, PM Modi pulled spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s leg and asked Rohit – was this Chahal’s idea? Rohit replied to this question by saying that this was Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal’s idea.
Also, Rohit said about eating some pieces of the Barbados pitch- I wanted to remember the moment where we won. We played on that pitch and won the match there. We were all waiting for that moment. Many times we came close to it, but could not achieve it. So, when we achieved it, the pitch was special for me.
