On this day, i.e. 10 July 1949, Indian team’s legendary player Sunil Gavaskar was born to Manohar and Meenal in Mumbai. Today, i.e. on 10 July, Sunil Gavaskar is celebrating his 75th birthday. Sunil Gavaskar made his international debut against West Indies at Queen’s Park Oval in March 1971.

Sunil Gavaskar missed the first test match but in this series he scored 774 runs in eight innings at an average of 154.80. Sunil Gavaskar batted explosively in this entire series and won the hearts of many fans. The most special thing about this series was that no team could play the West Indies fast bowling attack of that time.
It was not so easy for the West Indies but Sunil Gavaskar consistently attacked all these bowlers and put pressure on the West Indies bowlers.

Not only this, he scored 3,092 runs in 108 ODI matches at an average of over 35. Sunil Gavaskar has 45 half-centuries and 34 centuries in the Test format. His record was later broken by Sachin.
