Gary Kirsten has resigned from the post of head coach of Pakistan cricket team. Kirsten was made the head coach of Pakistan’s white ball team in April 2024, but he resigned from his post within six months. Now Jason Gillespie, who was coaching the team in red ball cricket, has been given the responsibility of head coach. After the departure of Gary Kirsten, there was a lot of criticism from all sides of PCB.

Now in this sequence, former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has slammed the PCB. He described Kirsten’s withdrawal as ‘two steps back’ after ‘one step forward’.

Pietersen posted on Twitter, “How can Pakistan cricket miss Gary Kirsten’s return to coaching? One step forward in the last few weeks and two steps back today. Stop doing this. There is too much talent to keep doing this kind of work.”

Pakistan team will tour Australia in November

Let us tell you that recently Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Mohammad Rizwan as the captain of the white ball team. And Gary Kirsten’s resignation comes just days after he became captain. It is being told that Kirsten was not happy with many decisions of PCB and for this reason he tendered his resignation.

Talking about Pakistan team, they are touring Australia for the white ball series in November. Where the Pakistan team will play an ODI series of three matches and a T20 series of the same number of matches. The 50-over series will be contested on 4, 8 and 10 November in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. After the ODI series, both the teams will play T20 matches in Brisbane, Sydney and Hobart on 14, 16 and 18 November respectively.
