Currently, the first match of the two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. In the first innings of the first Test, experienced batsman Babar Azam from Pakistan failed to bat well and returned to the pavilion without opening his account. Babar Azam’s wicket was taken by Bangladesh’s brilliant fast bowler Shoriful Islam.

Let us tell you, Babar Azam was out for 0 for the first time in his home. Now former player Basit Ali has put forth his point of view on this. Basit Ali believes that Babar Azam and Virat Kohli are two such batsmen in the world who whenever get out early, people start talking about them.

Basit Ali shared a video on his official YouTube channel in which he said, ‘Whenever Babar Azam gets out, the world starts talking about him. There are only two such players, Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. When both these players score centuries, they are praised but when these players get out, they are also criticized. We saw this in the Sri Lanka series when Virat Kohli was out in all three matches.’

Basit Ali gave his side on the controversial dismissal of Shan Masood

In the first Test, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pakistan did not have a good start and they lost three important wickets within 16 runs. There was a lot of controversy in this match regarding the dismissal of Shan Masood. Actually, a ball from Shariful Islam hit Shan Masood’s pad and went to wicketkeeper Liton Das and he caught the ball very well.

The field umpire declared it not out after which the Bangladesh team demanded DRS. It was seen in the replay that the pad and the bat were very close and when the ball went past Shan Masood’s bat, a spike was seen in the ultra edge. The third umpire changed this decision and the captain of the Pakistan team was declared out.

Regarding this, Basit Ali said, ‘Shaan Masood was not out. I don’t care what people are saying but the ball missed the bat. It hit the pad. Shan Masood made a mistake that he was looking back when the ball missed and that is why the third umpire also got a chance to give him out.’

I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket.
