If Babar Azam manages to score 112 runs in the first match of the Test series against Bangladesh, he can surpass Ricky Ponting in terms of scoring the fastest 4000 runs in Test cricket. Ponting completed 4000 runs in his Test career in 61 Tests and 96 innings. Babar has played 52 Tests and 94 Test innings in his Test career so far, which means he has a great chance to overtake Australian legend Ricky Ponting.
The fastest 4000 runs in Test cricket were scored by legendary batsman Don Bradman. Bradman achieved this feat in 31 Tests and just 48 innings. Whereas, India’s Virat Kohli completed 4000 runs in Tests in 52 Tests and 89 innings.
