PAK vs ENG, 1st Test: The first match of the three-match Test series between Pakistan and England is being played in Multan from October 7. Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss and decided to bat first. Pakistan got its first blow in the fourth over itself, when Gus Atkinson showed the way to the pavilion to Saim Ayub (4). After this, the pair of Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafiq have taken charge.

Pakistan’s opener Abdullah Shafiq completed his half-century in just 77 balls by hitting a brilliant six off Shoaib Bashir, the video of which is going viral.

The 24th over of Pakistan’s first innings was bowled by Shoaib Bashir. Abdullah Shafiq went down the wicket and hit a four on the very first ball. Then only 2 runs came on the next three balls. Facing the fifth ball of the over, Abdullah hit another four, after which he was just three runs away from his half-century. On the last ball of the over, Abdullah Shafiq completed his half-century by hitting a six towards long-on.

Abdullah was in very poor form for some time. His scores in the last 7 innings of Test cricket are- 3,0,37,2,0,0 and 4. After scoring a half-century against England, the batsman now intends to reach a bigger score.

Century partnership between Shan Masood and Abdullah

After losing the first wicket in the fourth over of the first innings against England, the pair of Abdullah Shafiq and captain Shan Masood have kept Pakistan on the strong side in the game. Till the time of writing the news, there was a partnership of 153 runs between the two batsmen for the second wicket. Shan Masood (92*) and Abdullah (61*) are present at the unbeaten crease.
