PAK vs ENG, 1st Test: Day 3 Highlights: The first match of the two-match Test series between Pakistan and England is being played in Multan from October 7. The host team has scored 556 runs in the first innings, Abdullah Shafiq (102), Shan Masood (151), Salman Ali Aga (104*) and Saud Shakeel (82) played brilliant innings. Joe Root created history after scoring 71st run

Joe Root created history when he scored 71st run in the first innings of the first Test against Pakistan. He became England’s leading run-scorer in Tests, surpassing former player Alastair Cook. Also, Root has come fifth in the list of players who have scored most runs in Test cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, Rahul Dravid are ahead of him.

Ben Duckett played brilliantly with Joe Root and made a partnership of 136 runs for the third wicket. Duckett was given out LBW by Aamir Jamal on the fourth ball of the 50th over. He played an inning of 84 runs in 75 balls with the help of 11 fours.

Joe Root scored the 35th Test century of his career in 167 balls.

Joe Root completed his century in 167 balls by taking a single on the second ball of the 63rd over bowled by Abrar Ahmed. This is the 35th century of Root’s Test career, he is the batsman with the most (5) centuries in Tests jointly with Kamindu Mendis in 2024.

Harry Brook scored his fourth test century in Pakistan

Harry Brook played brilliantly against Pakistan and scored a century in 118 balls. This is the sixth century of his Test career and fourth century in the last 6 Test innings against Pakistan. Brook has equaled India’s Mohinder Amarnath and Sri Lanka’s Aravinda de Silva in scoring the most Test centuries in Pakistan.
