This is the fourth 800+ total in the history of Test cricket. Joe Root played an innings of 262 runs in 375 balls with the help of 17 fours. This is Root’s sixth double century in Test cricket.

Whereas, Harry Brook scored 317 runs in 322 balls with the help of 29 fours and 3 sixes. Harry Brook has become the second batsman to score the fastest triple century (310 balls) in Test cricket. There was a record partnership of 454 runs for the fourth wicket between Joe Root and Brook. This is the biggest partnership ever for England in Test cricket. Also, this is the fourth highest partnership in the history of Test cricket.

The partnership of 454 runs between the two has become the biggest partnership made by any team in Test against Pakistan. The previous record was held by West Indies greats Conrad Hund and Gary Sobers, who made a partnership of 446 runs in Kingston in 1958.
