Pakistan’s batsmen were all out for 556 in the first innings. Abdullah Shafiq scored 102 runs, Sam Ayub scored 151 runs, Saud Shakeel scored 82 runs and Agha Salman scored 104 not out. For England, Jack Leach took 3 wickets, Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse took 2-2 wickets. Whereas, Chris Woakes, Shoaib Bashir and Joe Root took 1-1 wicket.

England scored 823 runs losing 7 wickets and declared the innings. Jack Crawley scored 78 runs, Joe Root scored 262 runs, Harry Brook scored 317 runs and Ben Duckett scored 84 runs. In bowling for Pakistan, Sam Ayub and Naseem Shah took maximum 2-2 wickets.

Batting on the fourth and fifth days, Pakistan’s entire innings collapsed for 220 runs and England easily won by an innings and 47 runs. In the second innings, Agha Salman and Aamir Jamal scored the highest runs of 63 and 55* respectively. For England, Jack Leach took 4 wickets and Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse took 2 wickets each.

With the sixth consecutive defeat, Pakistan has lost 11 consecutive matches at home. In its last Test series, Pakistan had to face 0-2 defeat against Bangladesh and that too at home. Now Pakistan will play its second test match against England in Multan from October 15 to October 19.
