Actually, Pakistan women’s team has not received salary for the last four months. The players currently have a 23-month contract with the board, which began on August 1, 2023, but they have not been paid since June 2024. The contracts, which were to run until June 30, 2025, were to be evaluated at the end of the 12-month period. It is still pending and no changes have been announced yet.
Cricbuzz gave a big statement regarding the salary of women players
“It is a work in progress,” the PCB told Cricbuzz. As soon as the lists are finalized and approved, contracts will be offered from 1 July 2024.” At the same time, a PCB official said, “There is a lot going on right now and there is a shortage of time to address all the matters.”
As per PCB policy, if male or female players get accommodation and three meals a day during the training camp, then daily allowance is not given. The women’s team did not get these facilities during its training camp in Multan.
In this situation, PCB should give DA, but the allowance was not given for the camp which was organized in Multan before the home series against South Africa. However, the supporting staff in the camp got allowance for this. Pakistan men’s team is also facing delay in getting salaries for the last four months.
