Today, on 21st July, Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Jay Shah has taken a big step to support the Indian athletes of the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. Let us tell you, the 2024 Paris Olympics is starting from 26th July and it will be played till 11th August.
Many Indian athletes will be seen performing brilliantly in many different sports in this great tournament. Jai Shah has announced on his official social media account that the Board of Control for Cricket in India will give Rs 8.5 crore to the IOA to support all the Indian players participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics so that all the athletes do not face any kind of problem.
Jai Shah wrote on his official social media account, ‘I am proud to announce that the Board of Control for Cricket in India will support our incredible athletes representing India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are donating Rs 8.5 crore to the IOA for the campaign. I appeal to all the athletes to take India to even greater heights.’

Let us tell you that this time 117 players from India will participate in Paris Olympics. Apart from this, the Sports Ministry has also approved 140 members of the support staff, which includes sports officials. 72 members of the support staff have been approved at government expense. Paris Olympics will start on 26 July and will continue till 11 August.
119 players from India participated in the Tokyo Olympics, who won 7 medals. This includes Neeraj Chopra’s historic gold medal in javelin throw. Of the players who qualified for the Paris Olympics, only shot put athlete Abha Khatua’s name is not in the list.
In the list of players, the maximum number of 29 (11 women and 18 men) players are from athletics. They are followed by shooting (21) and hockey (19). 8 players from India will participate in table tennis, while 7 players including two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will participate in badminton.
Wrestling (6), Archery (6) and Boxing (6) will have 6 players each competing in the Olympics. This is followed by Golf (4), Tennis (3), Swimming (2), Sailing (2). One player each will participate in Equestrian, Judo, Rowing and Weightlifting.
