In this match, all the players from Sri Lanka performed very well and played an important role in their team’s victory. Even though Sri Lanka won the third Test, England won the three-match Test series 2-1.
In the third Test, England scored 325 runs after losing all wickets in their first innings. On behalf of the team, captain Ollie Pope played a valuable innings of 154 runs with the help of 19 fours and 2 sixes in 156 balls. Apart from Pope, Ben Duckett contributed 86 runs. For Sri Lanka, Milan Rathnayake took three wickets while captain Dhananjay de Silva, Lahiru Kumara and Vishwa Fernando took two wickets each.
After this, Sri Lanka scored 263 runs after losing all wickets in their first innings. Captain Dhananjay de Silva scored 69 runs for the team while Pathum Nissanka scored 64 runs. Kamindu Mendis played a valuable innings of 64 runs. Ollie Stone and Josh Hull took 3-3 wickets for the hosts.
Host England failed to bat well in the second innings and were all out for 156 runs. For the team, Jamie Smith scored 67 runs in 50 balls with the help of 10 fours and 1 six. For Sri Lanka, Lahiru Kumara took 4 wickets while Vishwa Fernando took three wickets.

In the second innings for Sri Lanka, opener Pathum Nissanka played a match-winning innings of 127* runs in 124 balls with the help of 13 fours and 2 sixes. Nissanka did not spare any bowler of England and batted brilliantly against everyone.
Apart from Nissanka, Kusal Mendis scored 39 runs while Angelo Mathews contributed 32* runs. Gus Atkinson and Chris Woakes took 1-1 wickets for the hosts.
