The Pakistan Cricket Board has struck a deal worth one billion Pakistani rupees with a private bank for the naming rights of Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The stadium was named after Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 1974 but now the stadium will be named after the bank.

Not just Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, but Karachi’s National Stadium will also be renamed as National Bank Cricket Arena. Although the Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet officially announced this deal, sources have confirmed this.

A source said, ‘The deal is worth one billion rupees while the board had sold the naming rights of the Karachi stadium for $450 million.’ The initiative to sell the naming rights started in 2021 during the tenure of former PCB chairman and former captain Rameez Raja.

The source also said, ‘Mohsin Naqvi also wants that the domestic cricket stream should be supported and maximum revenue should be generated from it. All this will also boost Pakistan cricket a lot.
