A senior PCB source told Cricbuzz: The decision has been taken following feedback received from various stakeholders, including players and support staff, regarding the promotion and selection of certain players despite objections from other members.

So when the Pakistan cricket team was out of the T20 World Cup, at that time the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team and former PCB chief Rameez Raja had strongly criticized the team selected for the T20 World Cup. Especially when all-rounders Imad Wasim and Mohammad Aamir withdrew their retirement to play the T20 World Cup.
