Former player Salman Butt believes that the Pakistan Cricket Board and other players are not giving as much priority to the Test format as they are giving to the other two formats. Cricket Pakistani journalist questioned Salman Butt on the fact that the team has many spin options in the Test format who can perform well but despite that they are not being given a chance. On this, the former player has strongly criticized the other players and said that they are not playing matches regularly in domestic cricket and this is a very wrong thing.

Salman Butt said, ‘Should we give priority to Test cricket? Why are we so worried about the combination all of a sudden? We just don’t want to play this format. Our players are not playing first class cricket consistently. Our cricket board is the only one in the world that is saying that we should play two T20 matches instead of one Test match.’

According to Salman Butt, present-day Pakistani players are not giving much importance to Test cricket and are more focused on white ball cricket.

The former player also slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board over Babar Azam’s captaincy

Salman Butt said about Babar Azam’s captaincy, ‘He is not a born leader. But the problem is what contribution have you made that has made things even easier? You included those two players in the team who criticized you fiercely on TV. After this the board changed its captain and then after two series you brought Babar Azam back to the role of captain. You yourself are dividing the team into different parts.’
