The first edition of the Indian Premier League was played in 2008. Now the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League is starting from today i.e. 22nd March.

There are many players who participated in the Indian Premier League 2008 and will also be seen playing in the Indian Premier League 2024. Shikhar Dhawan, Piyush Chawla and Amit Mishra have so far participated in this tournament on behalf of many franchises. Manish Pandey was the first Indian batsman to score a century in 2009. Not only this, experienced batsman Ajinkya Rahane has also participated in this tournament on behalf of many franchises and he will be seen playing for Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 season.

The first match of the Indian Premier League 2024 will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Veteran wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik made his IPL debut in 2008 for Delhi Daredevils team. He will now be seen playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2024 season.

Ishant Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha started their IPL journey from Kolkata Knight Riders and till now both these players have played for many franchises in this great tournament. Rishi Dhawan and Swapnil Singh are also among the few players who have participated in this tournament on behalf of multiple teams.

Talking about the Indian Premier League 2024, the first match of this fantastic tournament will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore today i.e. on March 22 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Chennai.
