The teams of India and England faced each other at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Team India won this match. In this match, Team India’s veteran spin bowler R Ashwin bowled brilliantly and broke the back of the English batsmen by taking five wickets in the second innings. With taking five wickets, Ashwin made another great record in his name.

He has become the ‘Fifer King’ of India by defeating former veteran spinner Anil Kumble. Ashwin has now become the bowler for India with the most number of five-five hauls in Test cricket. This was his 36th five-wicket haul in this format. At the same time, Kumble took five wicket hauls 35 times in 132 Tests in his career.

Let us tell you that Ashwin achieved this feat in his 100th Test match. He is the fourth bowler to take a five-wicket haul in the 100th Test. Before this, Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Kumble have done this. Apart from this, Ashwin achieved another achievement. He is the only player to take a wicket on debut and in his 100th Test.

He made his Test debut against West Indies in November 2011. He took three wickets in the first innings of the debut test and six wickets in the second innings. Talking about Ashwin’s performance in the fifth Test match against England, he took a total of 9 wickets in both the innings of this match. However, he could not do anything special with the bat in this entire series.

Team India won the Dharamsala Test match by an innings and 64 runs to win the series 4-1. Team India had to face defeat in the test match played in Hyderabad. After that Rohit and Company made a brilliant comeback and won the remaining matches of the series.
