Wriddhiman Saha is suffering from back spasms.
In Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Bengal team is going to play its second match against Bihar from October 18 at Bengal Cricket Academy, Kalyani. The team’s first match was against UP, which ended in a draw but the team managed to earn 3 points, the credit for which goes to the bowlers.
Meanwhile, the Bengal team seems to be in trouble before the upcoming match against Bihar. Wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha is finding it difficult to play in the second match as he is suffering from back spasms.
A source from Bengal Cricket Association gave information
A Bengal Cricket Association source told The Telegraph on Wednesday, October 16,
Wriddhiman Saha has a little cramp in his back. He did not come on the field even on the last day of the match against UP. If he is not fit for the match, Evelyn Ghosh or Shubham Dey will replace him.
If Wriddhiman Saha is not able to recover completely, then Evelyn Ghosh can be seen replacing him in the playing 11 and can also make his debut for Bengal.
Hrithik Chatterjee may also be out
Spinner Hrithik Chatterjee could not perform anything special in the first match against Uttar Pradesh. He gave 105 runs in 25 overs and did not take any wicket. However, one or two catches were also missed in his bowling. Pradipta Pramanik or Aamir Ghani may get a chance in place of Chatterjee in the match against Bihar.
Shadow of rain in Bengal vs Bihar match
There is a forecast of rain in the first few days of the match between Bengal and Bihar in Kalyani. Bengal will aim to get full points from this match, as Bihar is not the strongest team in Elite Group-C, at least on paper. At the same time, Bihar had to face defeat against Haryana by one innings and 43 runs in the last match.
