The second semi-final of Ranji Trophy 2023–24 was played between Vidarbha and Nagpur. In this match, Vidarbha team made a brilliant comeback by defeating Nagpur by 62 runs and confirmed its place in the final of the tournament. Under the captaincy of captain Akshay Wadkar, Vidarbha won in a close match.

Despite a poor start, Vidarbha scored 170 runs in the first innings thanks to valuable contributions from Karun Nair. In reply, Himanshu Mantri’s team Madhya Pradesh also fought hard but Vidarbha bowlers played brilliantly and bundled out their team for 252 runs. Yash Thakur and Umesh Yadav took 6 wickets and reduced the opposition team to 258 runs.

Vidarbha will face Mumbai in the final of Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season.

Vidarbha’s batting lineup of Aman Mokhade, Yash Rathore and captain Akshay Wadkar performed brilliantly in the second innings. Rathod was given the Player of the Match award for his brilliant innings of 141 runs. Thanks to important innings from the lower-order batsmen, Vidarbha scored a total of 402 runs and set a challenging target for Madhya Pradesh.

Chasing 321 runs to win, Madhya Pradesh fought back thanks to a strong innings from Yash Dubey. However, Vidarbha bowlers, led by Aditya Sarwate and Yash Thakur, maintained a strong hold on the match and eventually bowled out Madhya Pradesh for 258 runs to secure a memorable win for their team.

With this victory Vidarbha ranji trophy 2023-24 Has confirmed its place in the final of the season, where it will face Mumbai. Earlier, Mumbai had won the semi-finals against Tamil Nadu.
