The 5-match Border Gavaskar Test series to be played between India and Australia is going to start from November 22. Shastri has selected Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal as openers in his playing XI for the Perth Test, while he has given place to KL Rahul at number-3. Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel will be seen handling the responsibility of the middle order along with Virat Kohli.
Jurel scored half-centuries in both innings of the last unofficial Test against Australia A. Apart from this, if we talk about bowling options, the former Indian coach has advised India to go with one spinner and four bowlers. Shastri believes that either Ravindra Jadeja or Washington Sundar should play in the Perth Test along with Jasprit Bumrah, Akashdeep, Mohammed Siraj and Nitish Reddy.
