When the first stage of IPL 2024 was over, hardly anyone would have thought that the Royal Challengers Bangalore team would be able to secure its place in the playoffs. In fact, after the end of the first seven matches, RCB was able to win only one match. After which everyone had given up hope of them reaching the playoffs.

But the way Bengaluru players have made a comeback after that, hardly anyone would have expected it. RCB qualified for the playoffs by defeating 5-time champion CSK by 27 runs in the 68th match of IPL 2024. With this, RCB has become the first team in the history of IPL to qualify for the playoffs after losing 6 out of the first 7 matches of the season.

RCB had lost six out of the first seven matches.

Yes, till date no other team has been able to do this in the history of this tournament. This has been the biggest comeback of RCB in the history of the tournament. Let us tell you that in the first half, the team had lost 6 out of 7 matches, while in the 8th match also they had to face defeat. There was a time when the team was at the bottom 10th position in the points table and they were in danger of being out of the tournament. Then the team gained such momentum that it won 6 matches back to back and got the ticket for the playoffs.

With this, RCB has become the first team to win 6 consecutive matches after suffering 6 consecutive defeats in a season. Yes, till date no team has been able to do this. Earlier, Deccan Chargers in 2010, Punjab Kings in 2020 and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022 had won 5 consecutive matches in a season and lost the same number of matches.

If the team is successful in winning first the Eliminator and then the Qualifier-2 in the playoffs, then the record of winning 8 consecutive matches will be registered in their name. On the other hand, if the team creates history by winning the final, then RCB can also score a triple hat-trick of wins.

AUS vs IND: India’s bowling attack is very weak compared to Australia. Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood are part of the playing XI for the Perth Test match. The number of Test wickets taken by these three is 900, whereas the four pacers of the Indian team together have been able to take only 265 wickets. In this way, in terms of bowling, the strength of the Australian team will be three times that of India. In the Test, Jasprit Bumrah has taken 173 wickets, Mohammad Siraj has taken 80 wickets, Akash Deep has taken 10 wickets and Prasidh Krishna has taken 2 wickets. The number of wickets taken by these four is 265, while Australian team captain Pat Cummins alone has taken 269 wickets in Test cricket. Whereas Harshit Rana and Nitish Reddy have not yet debuted in Test cricket. Although when Team India last toured Australia, India’s pace attack was much weaker than Australia, yet the Indian team was successful in defeating the Kangaroos at their home. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how Team India performs in this Border Gavaskar series.
