Ravichandran Ashwin completed 500 Test wickets by taking the wicket of Zak Crawley during the third Test played in Rajkot. He became the fastest Indian bowler to achieve this feat. Ravichandran Ashwin received his 100th Test cap during the fifth and final Test played in Dharamsala.

Regarding Ravichandran Ashwin, Anil Kumble said in the felicitation ceremony, ‘In my book he is one of the best players to play for the Indian team. His statistics are really fantastic and he has played a very good role in the success of the Indian team. He should have played his 100th match long ago but it did not happen. However, Ravichandran Ashwin will be very proud of his achievement.

Ravindra Jadeja said in a virtual message, ‘Ravichandran Ashwin’s contribution to the Indian team is huge. I hope to expect even better performances from him in the times to come.
