Former captain Salman Butt has defended Babar Azam after he resigned from the captaincy of Pakistan’s limited overs team.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam has once again left the captaincy. Babar informed the fans about this by posting on social media. Let us tell you that Babar had resumed captaincy before the T20 World Cup, but now he has once again decided to step down. Many people of Pakistan supported him due to his decision, while many players also criticized him.
What was the reason for criticizing Babar Azam?

Pakistan team under the captaincy of Babar Azam had to accept defeat from a weak team like America in this tournament. After that, Babar’s bat remained quiet throughout the T20 World Cup.

Salman Butt defends Babar Azam
Former captain Salman Butt has defended Babar Azam after he resigned from the captaincy of Pakistan’s limited overs team. In fact, former fast bowler Sikandar Bakht had made critical comments about the star batsman. Bakht had suggested that Babar should have resigned immediately after Pakistan’s group stage exit from the T20 World Cup.
Now after his resignation he said to Babar, “Now I am ashamed!”

Unhappy with Bakht’s comments, Butt defended Babar on a TV show. He said-
“Look, respect is given only to the one who has his own. This is very unfortunate. You are criticizing a player who has been the best player for Pakistan in the last five years.”
“You can like or dislike any person, but while criticizing you should consider the stature of the player.”
