Ricky Ponting does not want to become the head coach of Team India
Australia great Ricky Ponting told ICC, “I have seen a lot of reports about it. Normally these things come out on social media before you know it, but there was some small personal conversation during the IPL. Just to know from me whether I am interested in it or not?”
Let us tell you that Ponting has refused to take the role of head coach of Team India because he wants to spend time with his family. He further added, “I would love to coach a national team, but I have other things in my life and I want to spend some time at home. Everyone knows that if you work with the Indian team then you cannot be included in any IPL team. “Also, the job of a national head coach is 10 or 11 months of the year and as much as I want to do it, it just doesn’t fit into my lifestyle right now and the things I really enjoy doing.”
Along with this, Ponting mentioned the IPL and said, “My family and my kids have spent the last five weeks with me in the IPL and they come every year and I asked my son about this, and I said, ‘Your dad has been offered the Indian coaching job’ and he said, ‘Just take it dad, we would love to go there for the next few years.’
