The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka ended in a tie

The first ODI match between India and Sri Lanka was played on 2 August in Colombo. In this match, Sri Lanka batted first and scored 230 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Pathum Nissanka played a valuable innings of 56 runs for the team while Dunith Wellalage contributed 67* runs. Arshdeep Singh and Akshar Patel took two wickets each for India.

In response, the Indian team was all out for 230 runs. Captain Rohit Sharma batted brilliantly for India and played an aggressive innings of 58 runs in 47 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes. Rohit Sharma did not spare any bowler of Sri Lanka and continuously attacked strongly. However, Rohit failed to make his team win. Virat Kohli scored 24 runs in the first ODI.
