T20 World Cup 2024, Match-21: SA vs BAN: The 21st match of the T20 World Cup 2024 was played on 10 June at the Nassau International Cricket Stadium in New York. Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to bat first. The team was able to score only 113 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Bangladesh could score only 109 runs for the loss of 7 wickets while chasing the target and South Africa won by 4 runs. With this win, South Africa has strengthened its hold on the first position in the Group-D points table with 6 points.

SA vs BAN: South Africa’s top order flopped again

Against Bangladesh, South Africa lost 4 big wickets on a score of 23 inside the powerplay. In the very first over, Reeza Hendricks was out LBW on a golden duck against Tanjim Hasan Sakib. Tanjim Hasan then clean bowled Quinton de Kock (18) in the third over. After losing the first two wickets, captain Aiden Markram had a big responsibility. But he lost his wicket against Taskin Ahmed (4) in the fourth over. Then Tanjim Hasan Sakib sent Tristan Stubbs to the pavilion on a duck in the fifth over.

79 run partnership between Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller

After the initial four big setbacks, there was a 79-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller. Klaasen scored 46 runs in 44 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes. David Miller scored 29 runs in 38 balls. Due to the innings of these two batsmen, the team was able to put a total of 113 on the board.

For Bangladesh, Tanjim Hasan Sakib took 3 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs. Taskin Ahmed took two wickets and Rishad Hussain took one wicket.

The Bangladeshi team, which came out to chase the target, suffered the first setback in the second over. Kagiso Rabada dismissed Tanjid Hasan (9). Bangladesh needed 11 runs to win in the last over. But Keshav Maharaj gave only 6 runs and took the wickets of Zaker Ali (8) and Mahmudullah (20). For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj took the maximum of 3 wickets. At the same time, Enrique Nortje and Kagiso Rabada took 2-2 wickets each.
