India’s tour of South Africa 2023-24, SA vs IND: India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah (jasprit bumrah) played an important role in his team’s historic victory against South Africa in the second and final Test match played at the Newlands Ground in Cape Town today on 4 January.

Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets in the first innings of the Cape Town Test against South Africa. After which Bumrah made a stronger comeback in the second innings, taking 6 wickets for just 61 runs in 13.5 overs and made an important contribution in helping the Indian cricket team win by seven wickets. With this 6 wicket haul, he has achieved a very important achievement.

Let us tell you, Jasprit Bumrah is in great form since his return from injury. However, it took some time for the Indian fast bowler to reach his best performance in Test cricket, but thankfully he regained his form in time and took his third 6-wicket haul in Test cricket.

This was Jasprit Bumrah’s third five-wicket haul in South Africa and second in Cape Town, where he made his Test debut in 2018. Bumrah recorded figures of 6/61 in the Cape Town Test and with this he has become the third highest wicket-taker Indian bowler in South Africa. Bumrah now has 38 wickets in Test cricket in South Africa, and with this he has left Mohammed Shami (35) behind.

Apart from this, Bumrah (18) has now also become the second highest wicket taking foreign bowler at Newlands, Cape Town. He has achieved this feat by defeating Australia’s late spinner Shane Warne (17) and England’s legendary fast bowler James Anderson. England’s Colin Blythe tops the list of foreign bowlers taking the most wickets at Newlands with 25 wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah also equaled the record of taking most 5 wicket hauls by an Indian bowler in South Africa. Bumrah equaled Javagal Srinath’s record by taking 5 wickets for the third time in South Africa.
