The second season of the South African franchise T20 league SA20 begins on January 10 and will be played till February 10. It will include six teams – Durban Super Giants, Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

The upcoming edition of the SA20 will be played across six venues: Cape Town, Gkebarha, Johannesburg, Paarl, Centurion and Durban. The first match of the tournament will be played between defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings at St George’s Park in Gkebarha.

The tournament consists of a total of 34 matches, with the group stage adopting a double round-robin format. Each team will play ten matches (five at home and five away) from January 10 to February 4. The top four teams will reach the playoffs to be held on 6-10 February.

The first and second placed teams in the playoffs will face each other in Qualifier-1, whose winning team will directly reach the finals. The losing team will face the winning team of the eliminator team in Qualifier-2. The eliminator match will be played between the third and fourth placed teams.
