Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar now believes that India are the favourites to win the ongoing T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue topped their Super Eight group after beating Australia by 24 runs in St Lucia and will play their semi-final match against England on Thursday (June 27).

Shoaib Akhtar feels that India deserved to win the 2023 World Cup as well, but he regrets that Rohit Sharma could not lift the trophy. However, he feels that the Team India captain deserves to win the T20 World Cup and hopes that the trophy will return to the subcontinent i.e. Asia.

Shoaib Akhtar has said these things in a video on his YouTube channel, let’s see what he said-

“Well done India, this is your World Cup now. You should win it and the World Cup should stay in the subcontinent. You should have won the last World Cup and you have to win this World Cup too. You deserve it 100 per cent. My support is with you. Rohit’s intentions are good and his conscience is clear that he deserves to lift the trophy.”

“What a great win for India against Australia. They lost the World Cup which they should have won and they were going through depression. They lost the final to Australia and that depression turned into obsession. They wanted to hit back at Australia and that is what they did.”

India has to take another revenge

Team India had to face defeat against England in the semi-final match of T20 World Cup 2022. Team India’s performance was excellent in that edition too, but they could not reach the final. Rohit Sharma and the rest of the team will definitely be looking to take this revenge in this semi-final match. By defeating the defending champions England, their revenge will be complete and the way to the final will open.
