Today, on 14th July, in the fifth and final T20 match played at Harare Sports Club, India defeated Zimbabwe by 42 runs. In this match, all the players from India performed very well and played an important role in their team’s victory. The Zimbabwe team once again failed to show a good performance.
Let us tell you, batting first, India scored 167 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. India did not have a good start in this match and within five overs, they lost three wickets for 40 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was out after scoring 12 runs while captain Shubman Gill scored 13 runs. Abhishek Sharma also failed to play a big innings and returned to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs.
However, after three wickets fell early, wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson batted very well and played an important innings of 58 runs in 45 balls with the help of one four and four sixes. Sanju Samson started the match very slowly but after getting set, he played aggressive shots. Apart from Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag scored 22 runs while Shivam Dubey played an aggressive innings of 26 runs.
For the hosts, Blessing Muzarabani took two wickets for 19 runs in four overs. He was the most successful bowler for Zimbabwe.
India won the T20 series
Zimbabwe failed to bat well in this match while chasing the target and was all out for 125 runs. Dion Mayers scored 34 runs for the team. He was the highest run scorer for Zimbabwe. Faraz Akram contributed 27 runs while Tadiwanashe Marumani also scored 27 runs.
For India, Mukesh Kumar took four wickets while Shivam Dubey took two wickets. Tushar Deshpande, Abhishek Sharma and Washington Sundar took one wicket each.
