Saud Shakeel has many records to his name
Shakeel’s average has increased significantly after this century. The 28-year-old now has the second-best average among current Test batsmen with a minimum of 10 Test innings. After a brilliant performance with the bat, Shakeel averages 65.18 in 20 innings. His batting average is currently higher than legends like Steve Smith, Kane Williamson, Joe Root and Virat Kohli, who are considered four of the best players in modern cricket.
In the list of all-time best averages of batsmen (after playing a minimum of 20 innings), Shakeel is second just after the great Australian batsman Donald Bradman. Let us tell you that Bradman’s average is 99.94. Shakeel completed 1,000 Test runs during his innings, equalling Saeed Ahmed’s record of becoming the joint-fastest Pakistan batsman to reach the milestone. Both reached the milestone in 11 Tests and 20 innings.
Saud Shakeel broke Saeed Ahmed’s record during his century innings and became the highest run scorer for Pakistan after the first 20 innings of Test cricket. Earlier, the record for the highest run scorer for this team in the first 20 innings of Test cricket was in the name of Saeed Ahmed who had scored 1033 runs.
