David Warner has praised Rishabh Pant, who made a stunning comeback for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024.
David Warner has praised Rishabh Pant for making a great comeback for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024. Warner wrote an emotional note in which he expressed his gratitude to the fans who cheered for the franchise. Along with this, Warner also praised Pant for his better recovery and his dedication towards the game. However, despite Rishabh Pant’s return to the team, the franchise could not make it to the playoffs and finished 6th.
Warner posted some glimpses of his journey to IPL 2024 on his Instagram. Along with this, he also congratulated the KKR team for lifting the prestigious IPL 2024 trophy.
“Now that the IPL is over I would like to say thank you to everyone. Congratulations to KKR for winning this year, they deserved it and have been performing so well consistently. Thanks to our fans, the Delhi team team for always cheering us on and supporting us. This year was not ours but we gave our best. Our young players performed brilliantly and it was great to see that. It was also great to see Rishabh Pant playing again after the accident. I saw him for the first time after his comeback, and I really liked his dedication. See you next year.”
Warner praised Pant
IPL veteran Warner suffered a thumb injury in the middle of the season and missed a few matches for DC. Warner was able to score only 168 runs in 8 matches of IPL 2024 at a strike rate of 134. He was replaced by young Australian batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk, who rocked the entire tournament with his explosive batting.
Warner has always set great examples of sportsmanship, and he praised Pant for his dedication and recovery after a car accident in December 2022. Due to Pant’s absence, Warner led DC last season, and they finished bottom of the table in IPL 2023.
Rishabh Pant has made a great comeback, that is to say because he became the highest run-scorer for DC with 446 runs in 13 matches.
