The first match of the Women’s Premier League 2024 will be played between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals on 23 February.

WPL 2024 Opening Ceremony: The second season of the Women’s Premier League starts from 23 February 2024. This time the tournament will be jointly organized in Bangalore and Delhi. The first match of the tournament will be played between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in Bangalore. Before the match, big Bollywood stars will be seen performing in the WPL opening ceremony at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.

WPL had shared the news of Kartik Aryan, Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff performing with the fans. The list of performing stars has now become more special, because the names of Shahrukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor have been included in it.

Shahrukh Khan will steal all the limelight

While sharing the news of Shahrukh Khan performing at the opening ceremony today (February 21), WPL wrote, This is none other than Shahrukh Khan. Who will celebrate Cricket ka Queendom? Shahrukh Khan is going to steal all the limelight with his presence in the opening ceremony.

When and where to watch the opening ceremony

The Women’s Premier League 2024 Opening Ceremony will take place on February 23 at 6:30 PM (IST) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Fans will be able to watch the opening ceremony live on Sports 18 channel. Besides, live broadcasting of the opening ceremony will also be done on GeoCinema.

WPL 2024 final will be held on March 17

The Women’s Premier League 2024 will be played in a round-robin format between five teams. The team finishing last in the league stage round will directly play the final. The eliminator match will be played between the teams ranked number-2 and number-3. The elemental match will be played on 15th March and the final match will be played on 17th March in Delhi.

‘Jasprit Bumrah is a joke’ – shocking statement of former English bowler after Perth Test

Bumrah took 8 wickets in both the innings of that Test match and for this he was chosen Player of the Match. In the match, India achieved a spectacular victory within four days and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. After seeing the brilliant bowling in that match, former England cricket team fast bowler Steven Finn has praised Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in the first Test match against Australia. Finn praised him a lot and even said that he is the best player in the world. Speaking with former England captain Alastair Cook on TNT Sports, Steven Finn said, “Jaiswal scored a brilliant 161, but he is the player I like to watch. That is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket. Perth, I know it’s not the WACA; I know it’s a new stadium, but still, historically, Australia hasn’t lost many matches there. I thought India performed very bravely there.” Let us tell you that, Bumrah now has 118 wickets in 27 Test matches in SENA countries at an impressive average of 22.55, which also includes his career best performance (6/33). During this period, he has taken five wicket hauls 7 times, which is equal to Kapil Dev. They are followed by BS Chandrashekhar and Zaheer Khan (six each), and Bishan Singh Bedi and Anil Kumble (five each).
