Shamar Joseph turned the whole match around by running out Riley Russo
A decisive turning point came in the 14th over of the second innings of the match when Shamar Joseph made a brilliant run out of Riley Russo while bowling. Actually, Evin Lewis tapped a good length delivery from Joseph and called Riley Russo, standing at the non-striker’s end, to take a quick run.
Seeing this, Joseph also ran fast and picked up the ball in one movement and threw it accurately towards the stumps. Riley Russo was running very slowly and by the time the ball hit the stumps, he was far away from the crease. He returned to the pavilion after scoring just 11 runs due to Joseph’s direct hit. This excellent fielding by Joseph not only changed the course of the match but also stopped the momentum of the Patriots.
