Shikhar Dhawan Injury Update: In the middle of IPL 2024, the Punjab Kings team suffered a big setback on 14th April. Team captain Shikhar Dhawan was out of the tournament for almost 7 to 10 minutes due to injury. After Dhawan’s exit, Sam Curran captained Punjab in the match against RR. Talking about Dhawan’s injury, he has suffered a shoulder injury due to which he has been banned from playing the match.

After 4-5 days have passed, the question in everyone’s mind is how is Shikhar Dhawan’s injury? PBKS spin bowling coach Sunil Joshi has talked about Shikhar Dhawan’s injury in the press conference before the match against Mumbai Indians. Joshi said that the medical team is working on the star batsman’s rehab and will immediately update the team management if there is improvement.

Former Indian cricketer Joshi then supported young all-rounder Sam Curran, who was taking charge in place of Shikhar Dhawan. Joshi claimed that Sam Curran has done a good job in the absence of Dhawan in the last few matches.

Shikhar Dhawan Injury Update: What did Sunil Joshi say about Shikhar Dhawan and Sam Curran?

“As far as updates on Shikhar Dhawan are concerned, the medical team will assess the situation and inform us,” Joshi was quoted as saying by India Today. Right now he is in rehab.”

Sunil said in his statement, “Sam Curran is playing the role of captain for us in his absence. He was also the stand-in captain last year when Dhawan was injured and led the team well. So, we trust him completely.”

Punjab Kings’ next match in IPL will be played on April 18 (today) against Mumbai Indians in Mullanpur. Sunil Joshi feels that the home team may have a slight advantage due to the nature of the wicket.

This is a challenging wicket for all batsmen, especially for away teams, as the bounce on this wicket is completely different from all other surfaces. We will get a lot of benefit from this.
