The second day of the one-off Test match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan has ended. This match is being played in Colombo. On behalf of the team, experienced batsman Angelo Mathews played a brilliant inning of 141 runs in 259 balls with the help of 14 fours and three sixes.
However, just before the end of the second day’s play, the experienced batsman was hit wicket. Angelo Mathews was trying to play the ball of Afghanistan spinner Qias Ahmad towards backward square leg, however he could not hold his bat properly and his bat went straight to the stumps. Angelo Mathews was very disappointed with his big mistake.

Sri Lanka is in a very strong position till the end of the second day’s play.
Talking about the only Test match, Afghanistan was all out for 198 runs in its first innings. Rahmat Shah, the best batsman from the team, played a very good innings and scored 91 runs in 139 balls with the help of 13 fours. Apart from Rahmat Shah, Noor Ali Zadran contributed 31 runs. Qias Ahmed and Ikram Ali Khil scored 21 runs each.
In reply, all the players from Sri Lankan side have performed very well so far. Apart from Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal scored 107 runs in 181 balls with the help of 10 fours and one six. These two players made an excellent partnership of 232 runs for the fourth wicket. Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews did not spare any Afghanistan bowler and hit hard against all of them.
At present Sri Lanka is ahead by 212 runs in the only test. If Afghanistan wants to win this match, then they will have to all out Sri Lanka as soon as possible and make a big score in their second innings. However, it is not going to be so easy for them to do this because the spinners will get a lot of help on the third day of this test and Sri Lanka has many good spinners.
