The 27th over of Sri Lanka’s innings was bowled by Washington Sundar. On the third ball of the over, Sundar dismissed Pathum Nissanka (56). On the next ball, new batsman Dunith Welalage tried to play a sweep shot. Virat Kohli was stationed at second slip, and he completed the catch while keeping his eyes on the ball.
Washington Sundar appealed for LBW and the on-field umpire gave Velalage out. Dunith Velalage took the review, which showed that the ball missed the stumps.

Dunitha Velalage played an unbeaten innings of 67 runs
Sri Lankan batsmen were seen struggling in the first ODI against India. On the basis of half-century innings of Pathum Nissanka and Dunith Velalage, the team was able to reach a respectable total of 230 runs. Dunith Velalage played an unbeaten innings of 67 runs with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes in 65 balls. At the same time, Akshar Patel and Arshdeep Singh took the maximum of 2-2 wickets for India.
