Sri Lanka defeated India by a huge margin of 110 runs in the third ODI match played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on 7 August. With this victory, Sri Lanka has won the three-match ODI series 2-0. Not only this, Sri Lanka has defeated India in a bilateral ODI series after 27 years.

Avishka Fernando played a brilliant innings for Sri Lanka

In the third ODI, the host team won the toss and batting first scored 248 runs on the board by losing 7 wickets in 50 overs. Avishka Fernando batted brilliantly for the team and played a valuable innings of 96 runs with the help of 9 fours and 2 sixes in 102 balls. Apart from this, wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Mendis played a half-century innings of 59 runs.

Pathum Nissanka contributed 45 runs, while Kamindu Mendis scored 23*. For India, Riyan Parag bowled brilliantly and took three wickets for 54 runs in 9 overs. Apart from him, Mohammad Siraj, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav got 1-1 wickets.

Sri Lanka won the ODI series
