Indian youngster Riyan Parag made his ODI debut for India in the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka.

The last match of the three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and India is being played in Colombo on 7 August. The host team has won the toss and has decided to bat once again. Sri Lanka is leading the series 1-0, Team India needs to win today’s match to end the series on a draw.

Young player Riyan Parag made his debut for India in the third ODI. Parag had earlier made his debut in the shortest format of the game during the T20 series of the Zimbabwe tour.

Riyan Parag had shown excellent performance while playing domestic cricket for Assam and for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2024 season, for which he has now got the reward. Let us tell you, Riyan Parag has also become the first cricketer from Assam to make his debut for India in the ODI format.

After seeing the brilliant bowling in that match, former England cricket team fast bowler Steven Finn has praised Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in the first Test match against Australia. Finn praised him a lot and even said that he is the best player in the world. Speaking with former England captain Alastair Cook on TNT Sports, Steven Finn said, “Jaiswal scored a brilliant 161, but he is the player I like to watch. That is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket. Perth, I know it’s not the WACA; I know it’s a new stadium, but still, historically, Australia hasn’t lost many matches there. I thought India performed very bravely there.” Let us tell you that, Bumrah now has 118 wickets in 27 Test matches in SENA countries at an impressive average of 22.55, which also includes his career best performance (6/33). During this period, he has taken five wicket hauls 7 times, which is equal to Kapil Dev. They are followed by BS Chandrashekhar and Zaheer Khan (six each), and Bishan Singh Bedi and Anil Kumble (five each).
