Indian women’s cricket team’s experienced opener Smriti Mandhana batted brilliantly in the first ODI against South Africa and scored a match-winning century for her team. This match was played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Smriti Mandhana scored 117 runs in 127 balls with the help of 12 fours and a six in this match against South Africa. Due to this innings, the experienced player has now moved from fifth place to third place in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings. Smriti Mandhana is considered one of the best players in the world. In the match against South Africa, the Indian team had lost five wickets for 99 runs in 22 overs at one point. However, Smriti Mandhana handled one end very well and due to her innings, the team, batting first, scored 265 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs. In reply, the South African team was all out for 122 runs. Asha Shobhana, who was making her debut in this match, took 4 wickets for 21 runs in 8.4 overs.
