Team India’s victory parade was held on 4th July at Marine Drive in Mumbai
After winning the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024, the Indian cricket team arrived in India on July 4. After meeting PM Modi in Delhi, Team India had a felicitation ceremony at the historic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
However, before this felicitation ceremony, a victory parade of Team India was held on Mumbai’s famous Marine Drive from Nariman Point to the iconic Wankhede Stadium. To join this victory parade of Team India, a huge crowd descended on the streets of South Mumbai.
But now the news is coming that the cricket fans who participated in this parade had to face a lot of trouble. Cricket fans are also complaining that the police did not make any arrangements for this parade, due to which stampede was seen among the fans many times.
Fans said that the police did not manage the crowd during the parade
Let us tell you that a fan named Ravi Solanki, who participated in this parade, told NI – I was coming from office and I came to know that the Indian team would reach here between 5 and 6 pm, which did not happen. The crowd kept increasing to join the parade. The police was unable to handle the situation. People suddenly started shouting, after which some people fell on each other. It was very unorganized. There was no one to handle it. The stampede incident happened between 8:15 and 8:45 pm.
Also, a fan named Rishabh Mahesh Yadav said- The crowd was increasing. I fell and suffocated. I fainted. I was taken to a nearby hospital, where I was treated. I am feeling fine now. The crowd was more than necessary. There was mismanagement, and the police were also not vigilant.
